Jim founded Commonwealth in 1995 after serving as a chief operating officer and professional development officer for a variety of nonprofit organizations over the course of his career.
In addition to his development work, Jim continues to teach periodically at the Indiana University Lilly School of Philanthropy, where he was a lead faculty member for many years.
The author of numerous articles, chapters, and other publications, Jim frequently presents lectures, training, and seminars to audiences across the country.
With an extensive background in strategy and communications for government, private sector, and public sector audiences, Catherine applies best practices from a wide range of industries to nonprofit clients.
Catherine’s expertise includes in-depth research and analysis, strategic planning, creating and delivering training, and crafting and implementing effective marketing and communications plans.
Catherine is Jim’s daughter-in-law, and serves as a consultant to Commonwealth in addition to her work as a contract marketing and content strategist.
